Project Description

New Lynn Library

Stainless Steel Protection

Problem

The lift at this Auckland library was getting targeted by scratch vandalism being etched into the stainless panels within the lift. This made the environment look unkept and to some customers also unsafe.

Solution

GlassProtech provided a bespoke solution by taking photos of books in shelves, printing the images directly onto a specialist film and then applying directly to the stainless lift panels to hide the scratching.

Result

The customised solutions for this community space ensured that the film covered all the scratch tagging and provided a low cost, relevant and fun solution to hide etching on these lifts.

Description

The lift at this Auckland library was getting targeted by scratch vandalism being etched into the stainless panels within the lift.

Having noticed scratch etching vandalism on the lift at the library, GlassProtech approached Auckland Council with a proposal for a solution to this unsightly and potentially costly problem.  Using our in-house photography and design services, we took photos of book ends and printed these directly onto a hard-wearing anti-graffiti film. This was then applied to all the lift stainless interior panels. The film completely hid all the existing scratch graffiti and created the effect of walking directly into a library room, when entering the lift. A fun and low-cost solution to hide the existing scratch tags and protecting the surface from further damage.
